<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical film, in which foreign matters stuck on the surface of a roll are precisely detected and removed to thereby provide the optical film of which appearance defects are reduced. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method of manufacturing the optical film by a melt extrusion method. The method includes: a process of extruding a molten thermoplastic resin into a film shape from a die 3; and a process of supplying the extruded film-like thermoplastic resin to a gap between two rolls. Before the extruded film-like thermoplastic resin comes in contact with the rolls 11, 12, the position where the foreign matters stuck on the surfaces 11a, 12a of the rolls 11, 12 are detected by foreign matter detection parts 21, 22, and dry ice is ejected to the position of the detected foreign matters by dry ice ejection parts 23, 24 to blow off and remove the foreign matters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
