<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector of a structure in which low height (thinness) of 1.5 mm or less is attained and which is larger only by 0.4-1 mm than the width and depth of a card. <P>SOLUTION: The card connector 10 is provided with a required number of contacts 14, a housing 12, and a shell 16. The housing 12 and the shell 16 form an insertion engagement port 20 to which a card enters, a contact 14 is held in the housing 12 by one body molding, a metal body 18 of nearly plate piece shape is arranged by one body molding simultaneously with the contact 14 at both sides in width direction of the housing 12, and a projection piece 32 of nearly L-shape is installed on both sides in width direction of the shell 16 and on the opposite side to card insertion side. The projection pieces 32 on both sides in width direction are arranged on different levels alternately in zigzag, and the metal body 18 is engaged so as to be pinched by projection pieces 32 arranged alternately in different levels on both sides in width direction, and the projection pieces 32 on the opposite side to the card insertion side are engaged with the metal body 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
