<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding apparatus capable of surely transferring a sheet to a carry-out part from a carry-in part, and capable of accurately indexing a fold line of the sheet for performing folding processing. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet folding apparatus includes a first carrying passage 32 for guiding the sheet to the carry-out part 31 from the carry-in part 30 without performing the folding processing, and a second carrying passage arranged so as to cross the first carrying passage and performing the folding processing on the sheet from the carry-in part. A carry-in roller and a register area Ar for curving the sheet are arranged in the carry-in part of the first carrying passage.
