PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lawn mower having improved cooling efficiency and impact strength with a simple and low-cost structure. SOLUTION: A motor furnished with a cooling fan at an upper end of a rotary main shaft and a motor cover to form a motor cooling air channel are placed at an upper part of a machine body, and a grass-collection air channel which does not pass the motor different from the motor cover is formed to separate the motor cooling air channel from the grass-collection air channel. In the lawn mower having the above structure, an outer shell structure up to the ceiling of the motor cover is constructed of a gently inclined wall to reduce the air channel resistance, impact load is received with a large area to increase impact strength, and a straightening plate placed at the back of the motor cover ceiling of the outer shell structure reinforces the motor cover against impact load.
