LIGHT-GUIDING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-guiding plate that can reduce an optical loss and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the same.

SOLUTION: The light-guiding plate 22 reflects light made incident from an end face 28 thereinside and then surface-emits the reflected light from a surface 30. An unevenness is formed on a rear surface 32 of the light-guiding plate 22 on the opposite side from the surface 30. The unevenness is formed in a shape of a combination of a plurality of first mountain range shapes 34, each consisting of a first ridge 38 extending along a first direction D1that is a direction toward the inside from the end face 28 and a plurality of second mountain range shapes 36, each consisting of a second ridge 42 extending along a second direction D2intersecting the first direction D1. Each of the first mountain range shapes 34 has a pair of first side faces 40 with the first ridge 38 in-between and each of the second mountain range shapes 36 has a pair of second side faces 44, 45 with the second ridge 42 in-between.
