PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an appearance and a rear view field when a screen is in a spread state. SOLUTION: In a light shielding device 10, an upper rail 16 longitudinally formed extended in the vehicle width direction is fixed on an end portion 14B on the spread side of the screen 14. The upper rail 16 is lifted/lowered along vertical edges 142A of a rear window glass 142, so as to change the screen 14 between the wound state and the spread state. Further, the upper rail 16 is stored in a space 150 between a rear end portion 144 of a roof in a cabin and the rear window glass 142 in the vehicle fore-and-aft direction, when located at the lifted position where the screen 14 is in the spread state. Since this configuration hides the upper rail 16 out of the extent of the rear window glass 142 viewed from seats in the cabin, even when the screen 14 is in the spread state, the appearance and the rear view field when the screen 14 is in the spread state is secured.
