Method of lightening human keratin fibers comprises using (a) an anhydrous composition (A) comprising one or more fatty substances (greater than 20 wt.%), one or more nonionic surfactants comprising linear or branched optionally saturated mono-or poly-oxyalkylenated 8-30C alcohols, and/or mono-or poly-glycerolated 8-40C alcohols, and one or more alkaline agents comprising organic amines, organic amine salts or ammonium salts; and (b) a composition (B) comprising one or more oxidizing agents. An independent claim is included for multi-compartment device comprising a first compartment comprising anhydrous composition (A); and another compartment comprising an aqueous composition (B).
