<p>The present invention relates to immunogenic compositions, comprising polypeptides isolated from <Italic>Staphylococcus epidermidis.</Italic> The invention also relates to polynucleotides encoding <Italic>Staphylococcus epidermidis</Italic> polypeptides and their use in immunogenic compositions. In addition, the invention relates to methods of inducing an immune response in mammals against <Italic>Staphylococcus epidermidis</Italic> and <Italic>Staphylococcus aureus</Italic> using immunogenic compositions of the <Italic>Staphylococcus epidermidis</Italic> polypeptides and polynucleotides. The invention also relates to methods for detecting <Italic>Staphylococcus epidermidis</Italic> in a biological sample.</p> |
