LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

Disclosed is a safe lithium secondary battery which has a low risk of short circuit and can be produced at low cost. Specifically disclosed is a lithium secondary battery which comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The negative electrode active material in the negative electrode contains an oxide that absorbs and desorbs lithium at a potential lower than 1.0 V and/or a molybdenum oxide, and a nonwoven fabric is used as the separator. The thickness of the nonwoven fabric is preferably 10-25 µm. The negative electrode active material preferably contains an oxide that contains Si and/or Sn. The negative electrode active material is preferably composed of an oxide that contains molybdenum, and the negative electrode collector is preferably composed of an Al foil.
