Provided is a light-bulb socket, wherein durability and reliability of mechanical and electrical connections between a general-purpose illumination socket and a light-bulb type lamp are improved. The light-bulb socket (10) comprises: a cylinder-shaped first holding member (20) that has a base (21) on one side thereof, and an opening on the other side thereof; a cylinder-shaped second holding member (30) that is supported linearly-movably and rotationally-movably within the opening of the first holding member (20); and a cylinder-shaped third holding member (40) that is supported rotatably by the second holding member (30). A socket lampholder (41) for holding a lamp is formed inside the opening of the third holding member (40).
