<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the retransmission efficiency of image data even when performing real-time distribution of image data. <P>SOLUTION: A relay unit 1 includes an image data storage unit 2, a reliability calculation unit 3, a storage control unit 4, and a transmission control unit 5. The image data storage unit 2 stores image data therein. When receiving image data, the reliability calculation unit 3 calculates reliability of image data, which indicates the degree of change in quality of the image data, in accordance with a network condition between a distribution source device or another relay unit and the relay unit. When the reliability of image data is equal to or higher than a prescribed threshold, the storage control unit 4 stores the image data into the image data storage unit 2. The transmission control unit 5 transmits the image data to another relay unit or the distribution destination device. The transmission control unit 5 transmits the image data together with address information of the relay unit if the reliability of image data is equal to or higher than the prescribed threshold, and transmits the image data if the reliability of image data is lower than the prescribed threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
