PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding nozzle apparatus capable of quickly exchanging a sliding nozzle. SOLUTION: The sliding nozzle apparatus includes: a base plate 2 that is installed in the bottom of a molten metal container and that is equipped with a through-hole 2a communicating with a molten metal flow-out hole; at least one sliding nozzles 3 that is slidably arranged in the lower face of the base plate 2; a first slide means 6 that slides the sliding nozzle 3 to a position where the nozzle hole 3a communicates with the through-hole 2a of the base plate 2; at least one spare sliding nozzle 4 that is slidably arranged in the lower face of the base plate 2 and that is made to slide to a position communicating with the through-hole 2a through a common route with the sliding nozzle 3; and a second slide means 7 that slides the spare sliding nozzle 4 slide to the operation region of the first slide means 6.
