PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device capable of surely meshing with internal teeth of a gear plate of a lock gear. SOLUTION: An upper cam 60 and a lower cam 70 for pressing the lock gear 40 are fitted with a clearance to a cylindrical part of an intermediate plate 50 integrally rotating with a center shaft 80, and can slightly slide to the intermediate plate 50 so that, when an error is caused in meshing between the lock gear 40 and the internal teeth of the gear plate 20, the upper cam 60 and the lower cam 70 slide and absorb the meshing error.
