<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device management system which can obtain device information which cannot be obtained via an existing communication protocol, a managed device, an information providing method, an information providing program, and a recording medium recording the program. <P>SOLUTION: The device management system 1 includes a device management apparatus 100, and one or more managed devices 200 connected thereto. The managed device 200 confirms, upon receipt of an obtaining request of device information from the device management apparatus 100, whether the obtaining-requested device information is held in a predetermined storage area 233 of a storage device 212 as the latest information, obtains, when it is confirmed that the latest information is not held, the corresponding device information from a first information source 21 managing device information that is obtainable via a communication protocol from the device management apparatus 100 or a second information source 22 managing device information that is not obtainable via the communication protocol, and transmits the obtained latest device information to the device management device 100 that is the obtaining-requesting source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
