PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and identify disconnection spots of a covered electric wire. SOLUTION: A pulse generation circuit 13 for applying a pulse Po is provided on a test electric wire 31, which is an inspection object covered electric wire. A capacitive coupling probe 15 capacitively coupled to the test electric wire 31 is provided, and a differential pulse detecting circuit 16 is provided for detecting a differential pulse Pd appearing on the capacitive probe 15, and informing to that effect by an informing means 17, when the differential pulse Pd is lost.
