PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for a thin display instrument, which can pack various sizes of thin display instruments without having a number of packing materials according to the size of the thin display instruments which is to be packed, and which can improve a conveying efficiency and a storing efficiency of the materials without occupying a space more than is necessary when conveying and storing the materials. SOLUTION: The packing material includes two or more material bodies. Each material body includes a bottom part, a front wall connected with one end of the bottom part in one direction at the base end of the front wall, a rear wall connected with the other end of the bottom part in the direction at a base end of the rear wall, and a lid part connected with one of tip ends of the front wall and the rear wall at the base end of the lid part. The two or more material bodies are overlapped with each other and provided so as to be slidable in the other direction intersecting with the one direction. The material body is configured so that the lid part is bendable at different locations along an extending direction from the base end toward the tip end in a direction of intersecting with the extending direction, and the lid part overlaps with the other of the front wall and the rear wall in a state where the lid part is bent.
