PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polyamic acid ester which can be carried out in a high yield, with high purity, stably and simply. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is characterized as follows. Polycondensation of a dicarboxylic acid diester and a diamine is carried out under the presence of 4-(4,6-dialkoxy-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl)-4-alkyl morpholinum halide and a base. The base is a trialkyl amine or an N-alkyl morpholine. In the manufacturing method, the polycondensation is carried out at a temperature of -20 to 80°C, and further, polycondensation of the dicarboxylic acid diester, diamine, and dicarboxylic acid is carried out.
