PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner, capable of restricting scattering of discharged dust when discharging dust stored in a dust collecting case. SOLUTION: The dust collecting case 11 detachably attached to a cleaner body having a dust suction port includes a case body 12, a case lid 24, a guide member 41, and a dust separation member 51. The case body 12 includes an air flow inlet 14 continuous with the dust suction port, a dust discarding port 16, and an air flow outlet 18. The case lid 24 to open/close the dust discarding port 16 is rotatably provided on the case body 12. A guide member 41 to guide air containing dust sucked to the air flow inlet 14 to an inner surface of the case lid 24 is provided on the case body 12. A dust storage chamber 42 is thus parted in the body 12 as the air flow inlet 14 and the dust discarding port 16 face it. The dust separation member 51 is provided on the case lid 24 to face the inner surface of the case lid in such a way as to form a dust storage space G between a separation part 51a of the member and a free end side part of the case lid 24. Air flow in the dust storing chamber inverted on the inner surface of the case lid 24 to flow toward the air flow outlet 18 is filtered, and separated dust is stored in the dust storage space G.
