<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting member having improved luminous efficiency (external quantum efficiency) of a β-type sialon phosphor for achieving higher luminance of a white light-emitting diode, a light-emitting device thereof, and a production method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The β-type sialon phosphor includes β-type sialon represented by general formula Si<SB>6-z</SB>AL<SB>z</SB>O<SB>z</SB>N<SB>8-z</SB>(0<z<4.2) as a base material. When a solid solution with Eu<SP>2+</SP>as a light emitting center is formed and is excited with blue light, the β-type sialon phosphor has a peak in the wavelength range of 520-560 nm. The β-type sialon phosphor has average diffuse reflectance of 90% or more at a wavelength of 700-800 nm and diffuse reflectance of 85% or more at a fluorescence peak wavelength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
