PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing an alkyne from a vinylperfluoroalkane sulfonate. SOLUTION: The vinylperfluoroalkane sulfonate can be converted to the corresponding alkyne by treating it with a metal or a quaternary ammonium fluoride in an aprotic polar solvent. Also, by utilizing the technology, it is possible to purify an alkyne such as 2-butyne which is obtained from a petroleum fraction and conventionary difficult to be highly purified, in good purity.
