PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having excellent durability and contributing to low fuel economy of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This tire 2 includes a reinforcing layer 14. The reinforcing layer 14 exists locally in an axial direction and is located inside a main groove in a radial direction. The reinforcing layer 14 is located at the radial direction inside of a base 26. Loss tangentδc of a cap, loss tangentδb of the base 26, loss tangentδr of the reinforcing layer 14, the complex elastic modulus Ec of the cap, the complex elastic modulus Er of the reinforcing layer 14, an axial width Wr of the reinforcing layer 14 and an axial width Wg(mm) of the main groove satisfy the following relational expressions: (1) 3×δc≤δr; (2)δc≥δr; (3) Ec≤Er and (4) Wr≥(4/3)×Wg.
