<p>A method for the spatially resolved determination of tissue states (status image) of a tissue section 1, comprising the steps of: acquiring spatially resolved mass spectra 20 of the tissue section; generating at least two mass images 30 from the spatially resolved mass spectra 20, the mass images comprising mass signals of predetermined mass intervals; smoothing the mass images 30 using a smoothing algorithm; and calculating a status image 50 from the smoothed mass images 40 by means of a classification algorithm derived from mathematical statistics. The quality of the status images may be improved by optimization of the selected mass intervals, and the parameters of the smoothing and the classification algorithms.</p> |
