PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharger which can suitably reduce smudges in the machine because of liquid droplets. SOLUTION: A platen part 11 for supporting a paper at a position opposed to an ejection head 3 is equipped with conductive absorbers 21a and 21b. The absorber 21a is made of a positive polarity potential (+), the absorber 21b is made of a negative polarity potential (-), and a nozzle face 3a of the ejection head 3 is made of an earth potential (GND). Ink droplets 25a and 25b ejected overflowing from an edge of the paper 2 are caught and collected by an electric field (curved electric field) formed above a boundary 26 between the absorber 21a and the absorber 21b regardless of the charged polarities.
