The present invention relates to a walker apparatus having a means for engaging a brake pad mechanism and a brake pad assembly with a brake housing to partially cover one of the apparatus' wheels. The brake pad assembly includes a brake pad mechanism having a spring-biased brake pad lever pivotally mounted to the brake housing. The brake pad lever is connected at a first end to the means for actuating the brake pad mechanism and has a slot at a second end. A brake pad is slidably insertable within the slot. The brake pad mechanism includes a means for connecting the brake pad within the slot and for adjusting the position of the brake pad relative to the wheel. The brake housing extends around the brake pad mechanism, including the means for connecting and adjusting, to the outer periphery of the wheel for fully protecting the brake pad mechanism. |
