The system has a radio frequency emitter (1) fixed with a first audible or silent vehicle (2) such as electric, human or hybrid propulsion vehicles, that comprises emission related to displacement of the vehicle. A radio frequency receiver (3) is carried by a person (P) exterior to the vehicle or fixed with a second vehicle e.g. bicycle, tricycle, scooter or motor cycle. The radio frequency receiver receives and recognizes a signal (S) emitted by the emitter and informs the person about proximity of the vehicle using sound, light and/or vibrating alarm. The receiver is selected among portable terminals such as portable telephone, numerical personal digital assistant (PDA), intelligent telephone i.e. smartphone, visual or auditive deputy and global positioning system (GPS). An independent claim is also included for a method for warning a person.
