PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing temperature rise of a stay. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a nip member (nip plate 130) that receives radiation heat from a heating element; the stay 160 that supports the nip member while surrounding the heating element; a cylindrical fixing film 110 that surrounds the heating element, the nip member and the stay; and a pair of frames (guiding members 170) disposed axially on both sides of the fixing film 110 with respect to the fixing film 110. Openings 176 communicated between the stay 160 and the fixing film 110 are respectively formed in the pair of frames, and air is sent, from an air blower through the respective openings 176, between the stay 160 and the fixing film 110 in an axial direction.
