PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous resin dispersion which balances the performance such as storage stability, dryness, adhesion to a base material, pigment dispersibility, and corrosion resistance and has high utility and to provide an aqueous coating material containing the same. SOLUTION: The aqueous resin dispersion is obtained by neutralizing the carboxyl group in an aqueous resin such as an acrylic resin, a urethane resin, a polyester resin, and a vinyl-modified epoxy ester resin with an amine and dissolving or dispersing the resulting resin in an aqueous medium.
