The apparatus (1) has a fan running wheel (3) arranged in a cabinet (2) for circulating air. An air filter (6) cleans the air passing through an air duct (5). A cool air channel (22) passes cool air to a fan electromotor e.g. direct current electromotor or brushless direct current electromotor, to cool the electromotor with the cool air. The channel opens with a cool air intake (7) into the air duct in a direction of air flow according to the fan running wheel and the air filter for introducing the cool air from the air duct into the channel.
