PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for smoothly stacking bills into a bill storage having stacking mechanisms arranged facing each other. SOLUTION: The bill storage 11 stacks bills P in their thickness direction and accumulates them on a stage 13, positioned between a front plate 11a and a back plate 11b opposite thereto. Slots 14a, 14b for conveying bills P to be stacked are provided, respectively, in the portions of the front plate 11a and the back plate 11b above the stage 13. Also, each slot 14 is provided with a stacking mechanism 12, having a feed roller 15 for catching the pills P conveyed in from the slot 14 and releasing the bills onto the stage 13 and a pressure roller 16 for pressing the feed roller 15; and a stacking lever 20, or the like, having a guide unit 20a, or the like, that is slanted in a direction in which the conveyance-direction end of the bill P sandwiched between the feed roller and the pressure roller 16 is guided in the direction of the stage 13; and a stopper unit 20b, or the like, that is provided on the downstream end of the guide unit 20a or the like along the conveyance direction.
