PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody side ornament that is sharp and beautiful and a method of manufacturing the same in which even fine work is easy. SOLUTION: In this woody side ornament that is ornamented beside an ornament for a seasonal festival, a laser beam is irradiated in a desired pattern from one face (surface) of a plate-like woody material, at least one portion of the irradiated portion of the plate-like woody material is burned down, and a transparent or a colored transparent resin layer is formed on at least one of a non-irradiated portion and the irradiated portion that remains, of the face on the laser beam irradiated side.
