PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white line recognition device capable of exactly recognizing a white line even when pitching is generated in a self-vehicle. SOLUTION: The white line recognition device 1 includes: a photographing means 3 for photographing an image of an area including a road in front of the self-vehicle; an edge extraction means 7 for extracting edges of the white line on the road for every one frame of the image to be photographed by the photographing means 3; a history creation means 7 for sequentially recording the edges of the white line extracted by the edge extraction means 7 for every one frame to create history of the edges of the white line; a white line recognition means 7 for recognizing the white line using the history of the edges of the white line; and a pitching detection means 7 for detecting the pitching of the self-vehicle; wherein the history creation means 7 does not include the edge of the white line in a frame, photographed when the pitching is detected, in the history.
