COLOR FILTER AND COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

Disclosed is a color filter which has high luminance and excellent visibility in cases where a white LED is used as a back light source. Specifically disclosed is a color filter which is used in a liquid crystal display element that comprises a color filter having a red pixel, a green pixel and a blue pixel, and a back light source that is arranged at the back of the color filter. The color filter is characterized in that the red pixel contains (1) C. I. pigment red 242 and (2) C. I. pigment red 177 and/or C. I. pigment red 254, and the back light source is a white LED.
