PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink storage container which is constituted of a container body with a projecting cap fitting part into which a cap is screwed, the container body storing a writing utensil ink, and a penpoint protecting adapter with an ink retention part which stores the writing utensil ink, the adapter being fitted into the container body, and which has such an advantage that the aperture base of the container body and the cap can hardly be smeared by a writing utensil ink accommodated inside the container. SOLUTION: In this ink storage container, a projecting piece 16 which can come into contact with the inner wall surface of the container body 2, is fitted to the penpoint protecting adapter 6. By bringing the projecting piece 16 into contact with the inner wall surface of the container body 2, the penpoint protecting adapter 6 can prevent the uplift caused due to the writing utensil ink 5.
