Disclosed is a mobile terminal that is able to carry out an interference avoidance function for avoiding interference from other wireless communication systems, with more reliability. A mobile terminal device (100) is provided with a wireless communication unit (116) that conducts wireless communication via a base station (120) using a TDMA/TDD method; a frame error monitor unit (122) that monitors whether a frame error exists in each of the successive frames comprised of a plurality of time slots; a storage unit (104) that stores therein the existence of frame errors as a frame-error string; a calculation unit (126) that calculates the degree of similarity between the frame-error string, and a delayed frame-error string that had each member of the frame-error string delayed for one frame; an evaluation unit (130) that evaluates whether a periodic frame error exists on the basis of the degree of similarity; and an interference avoidance unit (132) that takes measures, when the calculation unit (126) evaluates that a periodic frame error exists, against the periodic frame error.
