摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely move an automatically controlled civil engineering machine along a preset curve. <P>SOLUTION: The civil engineering machine includes a control unit 7 having a means for determining data for specifying the position and/or direction of a reference position R on the civil engineering machine related to reference systems (X, Y, Z) independent of the position and direction of the machine. The machine is moved to a freely selected preset starting point on the ground, and the machine is arranged in a preset direction at the preset starting point. The position and direction of a target are then laid out. The target can be optimally arranged on the ground with a suitable allowance suitable for a possible fixing position.
