PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the meandering of slit band plates, with which the band plates after slitting are stabilized on the center side of a conveyance line without damaging the edges of the band plates or without using a complicated control system. SOLUTION: In the device for preventing the meandering of slit band plates, with which the band plates (slit band plates or slit materials) S1, S2 which are made by slitting a band plate of overall width into two bars within a conveyance line are passed through with a pinch roll, the pinch roll has a lower roll 12 for supporting the under surfaces of the band plates S1, S2 and one or more upper rolls 11 for shifting the band plates S1, S2 to the center side of the line by applying external force F caused by outside one-side reduction (or inward skew angles) by bringing into contact with the upper surfaces of the band plates S1, S2 and a center guide 1 for guiding edges on the center side of the line of the band plates S1, S2 which are situated in the nip of the pinch roll and/or in the vicinity of the nip is provided on the side of the lower roll 12.
