PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, when a black head and a color head are separated, joined, and made movable, relative positional change of both carriages cannot be dealt with even when impact position deviation correction is carried out. SOLUTION: When carrying out joining operation of a carriage 15 and a color carriage 16, a number D2 of pulses between carriages acquired from a detection signal of a position confirming sensor 42 is acquired. By using a number D1 of pulses between carriages as a reference color carriage position stored when impact position correction operation following operation of forming a previous adjustment pattern is carried out, an adjustment value α of discharge timing changed at adjustment is calculated. If the number D2 of pulses between carriages of a present time and the number D1 of pulses between carriages at previous adjustment are different, a correction value of the discharge timing is changed by using the adjustment value α.
