PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone resin composition capable of maintaining a shielding effect against long wave UV rays for a long period of time and having high solubility to solvents and excellent light resistance. SOLUTION: The silicone resin composition comprises a compound expressed by general formula (1) and a silicone resin, maintains a long wavelength UV ray-shielding effect for a long period of time, has high solubility to solvents and excellent light resistance, and is suitably used especially for applications to lenses, shielding materials, solar cell back sheets, window films, packaging films for foods and medical uses, agricultural films, optical films and fibers. In the general formula (1), R<SP>1a</SP>, R<SP>1b</SP>, R<SP>1c</SP>and R<SP>1d</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent except for OH, and at least one of the substituent is positive in a p-value of Hammett equation, wherein the substituents may be mutually bonded to form a ring; R<SP>1g</SP>, R<SP>1h</SP>, R<SP>1i</SP>, R<SP>1j</SP>, R<SP>1k</SP>, R<SP>1m</SP>, R<SP>1n</SP>and R<SP>1p</SP>are each independently the hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent, wherein the substituents may be mutually bonded to form a ring.
