摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide composite material having high tensile strength, bending strength and a flexural modulus in one direction, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide composite material is obtained by impregnating a carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite (C/C composite material) with melted metal silicon. The carbon fiber of the C/C composite material is a pitch based carbon fiber and the pitch based carbon fiber is oriented in one direction in the carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide composite material.
