<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor capable of simplifying the entire constitution and reducing the number of wirings. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor includes at least: an oscillator in which the cross section perpendicular to a central axis has a rectangular length ratio; and a rotor which is driven and rotated with the central axis in contact with an elliptic oscillation generating surface of the oscillator and orthogonal to the elliptic oscillation generating surface of the oscillator, as a rotational axis. The elliptic oscillation is formed by combining the primary longitudinal resonance oscillation expanded and contracted in the direction of the rotational axis of the oscillator and the twisting resonance oscillation in which the rotational axis is used as a twisting axis, and the ratio of the rectangular length of the oscillator is set so that the resonance frequency of the primary longitudinal resonance vibration expanded and contracted in the direction of the rotational axis of the oscillator substantially agrees with that of the twisting resonance oscillation in which the rotational axis is used as the twisting axis, then an oscillation detection electrode layer is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
