<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pointing function even if a pointing device is separated from a screen by acquiring a posture (direction) a pointing device. <P>SOLUTION: A pointing system includes a plurality of speakers 20a, 20b, 20c for originating sonic waves which are modulated by mutually different pseudo random signals, a plurality of microphones 10a, 10b for receiving the sonic waves, a distance calculating part 30-0 for performing correlative processing in the reception modulation sonic waves received by the respective microphones 10a, 10b, obtaining the arrival time of the modulation sonic waves, and calculating distances between the respective speakers 20a, 20b, 20c and the respective microphones 10a, 10b based on the arrival time, a position estimating part 30-1 for estimating spatial positions of the respective microphones 10a, 10b based on the calculated distances, and an indication point estimating part 30-2 for estimating the intersection of a straight line passing an arbitrary point on the pointing device 10 and being in parallel with a direction vector with the screen as a plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
