<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector having heat dissipation effect. <P>SOLUTION: A jack 10 is mounted on a printed circuit board 1p so that a plug 20 connecting an electric wire 2w is inserted substantially parallel to the printed circuit board 1p. The jack 10 includes a housing 1 and a pair of U-shaped contacts 3a, 3b. The housing 1 includes an opening 11 to which a housing 2 fits and which is arranged on a first side 1a, and a contact housing chamber 12 opened to the first side 1a. Blade-shaped connection pieces 31, 31 of the pair of contacts connecting to a counterpart contact are arranged oppositely inside the contact housing chamber 12. The housing 1 includes a pair of cut parts 13, 14, respectively, provided on a second side 1b and a third side 1c adjacent to the first side 1a. The contacts 3a, 3b include band-plate-shaped heat dissipation pieces 32 opposite to the connection pieces 31.
