A copy-milling or engraving machine comprises two mountings 14, 16 which carry the tool 54 and tracer 70 respectively and are guided in three dimensions to keep their original orientation, the tool and tracer each being inclined relatively to their mountings. The single-edge milling-cutter 54 and tracer 70 are carried on a double pantograph arrangement 12, 22 for variable-ratio copying as in Specification 474,355. The cutter 54 in a collet 52 is rotated in a sleeve 48 by bevel gearing 62, 64 connected to the spindle 14 by a driving pin 60. The tracer is secured non-rotatably in a similar sleeve 48a. Both sleeves 48, 48a -can be adjusted similarly by graduated scales 72, 72a. |
