[Also in Group XXXVII] A bus-bar section for switchgear units comprises a plurality of bus-bar pieces 1 embedded in a body 4 of cast resin, such as ethoxylene resin, there being one piece for each conductor required in the unit, each piece having its ends 2, 3 bent at an angle to its central portion which is longitudinally offset but in parallel spaced relation with respect to adjacent pieces, and the ends of the pieces, which may also be enclosed in resin, being adapted for connection to the ends of corresponding pieces 1<1>, 1<11> of similar adjacent sections. The bent ends of each piece may be disposed so that their extremities are aligned. The mould 5 used for casting the resin may be retained in position and be used to connect the bus-bar sections together by means of flanges 6, 7 and to fix the sections in the switchgear unit by means of flanges 19, 20. Each piece 1 may be corrugated to avoid damage due to differences in coefficients of expansion. |
