PURPOSE: A water blocking device is provided to block water from flowing into a residential area in the event of tsunami or flood by rapidly and accurately operating independently of human or power. CONSTITUTION: A water blocking device comprises a water storage(12), a water blocking unit(14), a guide unit(28a) and a packing(84). The water storage is arranged under a path. The water blocking unit is held in the water storage. The guide unit guides vertical movement of the water blocking unit. The packing prevents leakage of the water blocked by the water blocking unit. The water storage comprises a tank, a water collecting unit and an opening(26). The water collecting unit sends water to the tank. The opening is open to the path from the upper part of the tank. The water blocking unit forms a first surface(71a) and a second surface(71b), to which water pressure is applied. |
