PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a small diameter of a through-hole of a dial to miniaturize a cap without causing deficiency of a light amount of emission of a pointer or steep rise of drive torque of the pointer. SOLUTION: A pointer-type display condenses illumination light from a plurality of LED chips 19 annularly arranged on a circuit board 15 in the form of the ring of smaller diameters than arrangement diameters of the LED chips 19 with a first prism 23 fixed on the circuit board 15. The pointer type display condenses the light on the center axis of a shaft part 3f of the pointer 3 to make the light incident on a pointer body 3a with a prism body 25j of a second prism unit 25 connected to the pointer 3. In addition, the pointer-type display shades the illumination light leaked from the surface of the first prism 23 with a prism storing part 13e of a rear case 13b, and shades the illumination light leaked from the surface of the prism body 25j of the second prism 25a with a cover 25b of the second prism unit 25.
