The invention is a gambling apparatus, having a betting storage unit (22), a unit for storing a local gaming amount, and a gambling unit carrying out local gambling on the basis of a random factor. The apparatus comprises a computer unit (47) for keeping in touch with a specified set of further gambling apparatuses (40), on the basis of the apparatuses (40) a regional prize fund is determined, and the computer unit (47) enables carrying out gambling on the regional prize fund in accordance with a bet stored in the betting storage unit (22).
