<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium which has suitability for a dye ink and a pigment ink, has a highly glossy feeling comparable with a silver salt photograph, is extremely excellent in scratch resistance on a surface of a gloss developing layer, has an image quality and a uniform glossy feeling comparable with those of an ink jet recording medium manufactured using photographic paper base material or a film base material, and is recyclable, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The glossy paper for ink jet recording includes one or more ink receiving layers arranged on at least one surface of a paper based material, and a gross developing layer containing a pigment, a binding agent and a lubricant arranged on the uppermost surface of the ink receiving layer and formed by a cast coating method. The gross developing layer contains a gas phase method silica and a monodisperse spherical colloidal silica as the pigment, and a higher fatty acid salt and a polyethylene emulsion as the lubricant, wherein the monodisperse spherical colloidal silica has an average particle size of 50-300 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
