PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can discriminate authenticity and detect a remaining amount of liquid without arranging an electronic component. SOLUTION: The liquid container includes: a liquid housing chamber in which liquid is housed; a liquid supply port for supplying the liquid housed in the liquid housing chamber to a liquid consumption device; a label which is arranged on an outer surface of the liquid container and in which invisible information which is visible optically is recorded; and a prism having an incident face where light enters from the outside of the liquid container, a reflecting face capable of reflecting the incident light and an emitting face for emitting the reflected light. The reflecting face of the prism is arranged in the liquid housing chamber, makes the incident light pass when contacting with the liquid, and reflects the incident light when not contacting with the liquid.
