PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight type ventilator having high airtight performance as a cover is press-contacted with a frame in addition to opening/closing an air inlet of the frame provided for a building with the cover, and excellent in operability as both the opening/closing operation and press-contact operation can be carried out in a series of operations. SOLUTION: The frame 1 has a front side opening as the air inlet 2D and a rear side opening as an exhaust port. The cover 6 for opening/closing the air inlet 2D of the frame 1 is rotated by a cover opening/closing mechanism in parallel with a front edge 1A of the frame 1 to contact the front edge 1A. An operation rod 13 inserted to the frame 1 through an insertion hole 3E for operating from outside is provided with an engagement piece composing a sealing mechanism.
